This week I continue to interrupt you from regular scheduled Hong Kong review programming to share one of my new favorite brunch spots in New York City called The Butcher’s Daughter. The Butcher’s Daughter makes eating meat so last year with a menu of tasty vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. They currently are in three cities: Los Angeles, Venice, Italy and New York City with 2 locations in the city: 1 in West Village and 1 in Nolita.
When it comes to brunch, I always need a glass of mimosa or cocktail alongside my brunch and as it was my first time at The Butcher’s Daughter, this is what my instinct told me to get alongside my Honey Bee Mimosa:
Smashed Avocado Toast Benedict
2 Poached Eggs, Curried Hollandaise, Avocado Smashed With Curry, Mustard Seed and Lime, Served on 9-Grain Toast With Roasted Potato Hash
I’m always one to bag someone who overly expresses their love for the vegan lifestyle but I can own up and understand why people decide to live vegan. And if you don’t know what I mean, it will only take one bite from The Butcher’s Daughter to answer your question. Their food is extremely tasty especially when the key ingredients aren’t just the right ingredients but also are fresh ingredients. I would recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a spot that has all the brunch essentials, which in my vocabulary means a great mimosa and any dish with avocado in it. Also, especially for anyone who’s short on time but wants to taste all of New York’s goodness, The Butcher’s Daughter is the perfect place because not only is finishing your plate not a problem, it’ll also leave you feeling bloat-less.
